Indiana 50501 sponsored a protest rally in Evansville yesterday, which was delayed from April 5 (the day of the nationwide protests) because of bad storms. Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day with temperatures in the mid-60s. I forgot my sunscreen and ended up being a true redneck (in the best sense of the word). There were inspiring speeches and lots of great signs everywhere you looked.
The Evansville rep for Indiana 50501 goes by Helpful Hippie. I met her through TikTok, where she posts videos of upcoming events and happenings in Evansville. It was great to meet her in person yesterday and give her a hug of gratitude. The hubs and I had a great day hanging out with our pastor and another friend from church. Our friend Mark H. and two of his friends marched with us, and he and his friend Bert shared some photos that they took.

I took a few videos to show the size of the crowd (which was not easy!). We marched, we chanted, and we cheered those giving speeches.

More shots of the crowd. The song that’s playing right at the start is “Hostile Government Takeover” by AGiftFromTodd and Vinny Marchi which you can listen and watch here.

It really was a fantastic day! I’ll end with this photo, probably my favorite of the day, showing our pastor MB and our friend Anne from our church in Evansville.
If you have a chance to attend a rally in your town or city, I urge you to go. It will give you energy and inspiration, and it will help stave off the doldrums that the administration wants you to feel. We must keep resisting!
Keep up the fight, friends.
